Chris Hardy, our District Chair, will be running the London Marathon in April 2025 for the Scout Association. This is where we need you and your Groups/Units help please! Chris needs to raise £2500 as his target for fundraising, and to do this we are asking for some support across the District.
Could you and your Group/Unit run any fundraising activities to support? This could be sponsored silence, cake sale, coffee morning/evening, sponsored run, swim or anything else that you can think of – the more creative the better.
There will be a prize for the Group/Unit that helps raise the most and Chris has ordered some unique London Marathon Scout badges too as part of this prize. There is also the Scout Fundraising badge for this work: https://www.scouts.org.uk/scouts/activity-badges/fundraising/
Finally if anyone owns or knows a business or individual who would want to sponsor or purchase memory miles please contact me Chris directly via chair@blackpoolscouts.org.uk.
For businesses there are three options that they may consider:
- Option 1 – Your business logo will be printed on Chris’ running vest with a suggested minimum donation of £26.20 (£1 per mile but any amount over this is more than welcome!)
- Option 2 Direct donation of ANY AMOUNT via his JustGiving Page
- Option 3 A prize available for Chris to auction/raffle
