Scouts selected to represent at World Scout Jamboree 2027 in Poland

A group of inspiring young people from Blackpool are celebrating after being selected to represent the UK at the World Scout Jamboree 2027 in Poland, an experience that will see them step boldly onto the global stage.

Following a highly competitive and engaging selection process, including applications, interviews, and team challenges, the successful Scouts have secured their place in the UK contingent. Throughout the journey, they demonstrated not only practical skills, but also courage, teamwork, and a willingness to challenge themselves and try something new.

The selection process reflected the true spirit of Scouting, encouraging young people to grow, support one another, and take brave steps beyond their comfort zones.

Leaders involved in the selection praised all participants for their enthusiasm, positivity, and determination, highlighting the strength and potential of young people across Blackpool.

The World Scout Jamboree, taking place in Poland in 2027, is one of the largest youth events in the world, bringing together tens of thousands of Scouts from across the globe. It is a unique opportunity to build lifelong friendships, experience new cultures, and discover what it means to be part of a truly global community.

With the 2027 theme “Bravely”, the Jamboree will inspire young people to speak up, take action, and shape a better future – empowering them to grow in confidence, resilience, and self-belief as they take their place in the world.

For the selected Blackpool Scouts – Jessica, Heather, William, Alexander and Ben, this is just the beginning of their journey. In the lead-up to the event, they will take part in training, team-building, and fundraising, developing skills and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Local Scout leaders and the wider community have shared their pride in the group, recognising the commitment and determination it has taken to reach this point. They are confident the Scouts will represent Blackpool and the UK with energy, kindness, and courage.

Elise Thompson, a member of the West Lancashire World Scout Jamboree 2027 Leadership Team, said, “I really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to select the individuals to come alongside us to Poland.
