A Blackpool Scout volunteer has been recognised for her contributions to the organisation and local community, with a British Empire Medal (BEM) as part of the Kings New Year’s honours list.
Eileen Hagan, 82, who’s been involved in Scouting for over 25 years in Blackpool, holding multiple roles during this time, has been supporting young people and volunteers to gain vital skills for life. More specifically at 8th Blackpool Scout Group based in South Shore, volunteering with Beaver Scouts aged 6-8 years old.
Lead Volunteer, Matt Hornby said “We are proud of Eileen’s well-deserved achievement. She’s a fantastic team player, supporting young people and fellow volunteers in the local community.” From us all at Blackpool Scouts, Eileen, thank you!
