Do you want to make a difference? How about building, refurbishing or creating crucial infrastructure for orphans in Africa?
In the summer of 2025 a team of 30 Explorer and Network Scouts from West Lancs Scouts will be travelling to Malawi in Africa to work with an amazing charity called Friends of Mulanje Orphans (FOMO). Over a three week period we will complete a number of upgrade projects on orphanage centres within the Malawi area of Africa . In addition there will be 3 Scouts of the world award projects which will include building much needed facilities and infrastructure to be used by hundreds of FOMO children.
We will meet the local communities and spend time with the young people we are going to help and after all the hard work we have the opportunity to visit some amazing places and perhaps even meet some animals on a safari!
The trip is aimed at the Explorer and Network section and is open to anybody born between the dates of 1st September 2000 and 31st August 2009. The individual must be a member of West Lancs Scouts as a Leader, Explorer Scout, Young Leader or Network Member. All applications be completed by 18th March 2024. A selection event is planned for the 24th March to select the team.
