What is it?
A chance for Cub Scouts to experience a night away with a difference – in York!
The trip will be running for 1 night over the bank holiday weekend at the start of May 2024. We are planning a jam-packed experience! Activities to include a trip to the world famous York Minster, a wizard walk, the York Chocolate story, a walk around the walls and a visit to the railway museum (subject to availability at the time of booking).
We will be staying in a Youth Hostel with children sleeping in dorm rooms of 4 or 6 with other Cub Scouts and we are hoping to book the train to take us there and back!
Who?
This trip will be open to any young person who will be an invested Cub of a Blackpool Cub Pack and of Cub age (8 to 10 1⁄2) on Saturday 4th May 2024. We will have up to 30 places available.
When?
This trip will run from Saturday 4th May to Sunday 5th May 2024.
Cost
This trip will cost £170 per person which will include transport, accommodation, entrance fees to all attractions and planned visits, a unique trip necker plus food/drink for the night (a packed lunch will be needed for the Saturday).
The payment schedule is listed below and payments will need to be made directly into the Blackpool District Cub account. Once a payment is made, it will be non- refundable. Alternative payment schedules can be discussed, once the deposit is paid.
Payment Schedule
- By 30th September: £30 to secure place – a non-refundable deposit.
- Then 5 monthly payments of £24 (October, November, December, January and February).
- Then a final payment in March of £20. Alternative payment plans can be arranged.
- The trip must be paid in full by 31st March 2024.

Sign up by clicking on the link below and paying a non-refundable deposit of £30 no later than 30th September 2023.
If we have more than 30 young people want to attend, all Cub Scouts will be taken into consideration for attending the trip. If your child does not receive a place, deposits will be refunded.
