Adventurer Jordan Wylie MBE inspires the next generation

Inspiring the next generation! Jordan Wylie MBE, Army Cadets UK Ambassador and supporter of Blackpool Scouts headed back to where it all started to inspire the next generation of adventurers.

Born and raised in Blackpool, award winning adventurer, international bestselling author and star of Channel 4’s Hunted and Celebrity Hunted, Jordan Wylie MBE, headed down to 1st Staining Scout Group and 5th Blackpool Scout Group (on St. Walburgas Road) to get stuck in with map reading and talk to the Scouts all about his adventures.

Beavers Cubs and Scouts were so excited to hear about all his adventures across the world and here in the UK. With Jordan visiting over 112 countries he’s a real inspiration for the next generation of adventurers here in Blackpool.

Emma Dawson, lead volunteer for 1st Staining Scout Group said ‘our Beavers and Cubs really enjoyed chatting to Jordan tonight. What a fab example of how skills learnt in Scouts can lead to exciting adventures in later life’.

After visiting 1st Staining, Jordan went over to 5th Blackpool Scout Group based on St.Walburgas Road near Victoria Hospital. This is where his Scouting journey started over 30 years ago as a Beaver and Cub at this Group. The young people and adult volunteers were so happy to welcome him back and hear his inspirational journey.

Jordan said ‘thank you so much for the very kind invitation. It was a real pleasure and privilege to meet so many enthusiastic, ambitious and adventurous young people being guided and led by some very selfless Scout leaders! I look forward to seeing you all again soon. Dream big, stay humble and never give up!’

You can follow in Jordan’s footsteps too, whether as a young person or an adult! There’s an adventure waiting just for you!
