Scouts, ready? Steady? Cook!

Let’s get cooking! Scouts from across Blackpool rolled up their sleeves, washed their hands and got cooking for their Cooking Competition.

Starting the day off with some ice-breakers and a cooking quiz, the Scouts got stuck into food safety and meal prep before the cooking commenced!

All of the teams that entered worked well as a team and had a lot of fun in the competition. Our judges Darrell (lead volunteer for Growth), Phil (District Archivist) and Liam (lead volunteer for Scout Network) went round and talked to each team and marked them on teamwork and hygiene. Once the meals were ready and presented to the judges, they were marked on taste, presentation and creativity.

We had some excellent meals from chilli con carne to risotto! The teams also had a technical challenge which was to boil an egg. This was a great challenge as it was interesting how there were so many different techniques used to boil the egg.

The winners are as follows:

  • 1st Place: 37th Blackpool
  • 2nd Place: 1st Staining
  • 3rd Place: 1st Norbreck
  • Technical Challenge winners: 51st Blackpool

It was a fantastic day and fun was had by all. Each team worked really hard and did a fantastic job!
