A summer of adventure

Summer is a great time to get outside, whether it’s by the beach, in the woods or in the school playground. Scouting doesn’t stop over the summer. The adventures continue.

5th Blackpool Scout Group got down to the beach for games and, yes you guessed it, sandcastle building! They also popped down to Fleetwood Boating Lake for a spot of kayaking and a giant paddle board.

Hwyl yr haf! (Summer fun!) 1st Norbreck Scout Group headed down to Wales for a week of dolphin watching, sailing, zip lines, climbing, watersports and the list goes on. The young people and volunteers had so much fun.

It was summer camp time for 7th Blackpool Scout Group. Hiking, nights by the fire, roller skating, catapults, tomahawk throwing and lots more adventures for our young people to get stuck in with. Even a trip to Ninja Warrior Wigan to test their strength and agility on the ninja warrior course.

Out in the park, down at the trampoline park and a big summer party was on the to do list for 24th Blackpool Scout Group.

To top off the summer, this year West Lancashire Scouts held Red Rose 2022, an international camp for Scouts from across the world held right here in Lancashire. A number of our groups, young people an volunteers attended and were staff members for the camp.

Merida (45th Blackpool Beaver) unveiled the viking subcamp banner before getting some Gang Show stage practice in taking to the stage with a song and dance. Volunteers, Damien and Dave, led the opening parade for the Vikings at Red Rose too.
