YouShape 2019 Round-Up

YouShape 2019 Round-Up

We want every young person to shape their own adventure. February was #YouShape month where we encouraged our young people to make more decisions, shape their own programmes and take on leadership roles. Take a look at what we got up to.

What did the District get up to?

We are proud to say that most of our groups in Blackpool took part. Below is a selection of a what a few groups got up to. (If you would like your group including please email dyc@blackpoolscouts.org.uk)

Mission Possible Week

Both of our Explorer Scout units have fantastic programmes all designed from their ideas running up until Easter. The forum we held at Winter camp was both brilliant and thought provoking for leaders and the ES/ESYLs.

Take a look at what our Explorer Scout Young Leaders got up to during Mission Possible Week.

Network

Our Scout Network is continually growing and always looking for 18-25 year olds to join, develop skills for life and enhance their employability.

As a District we are very youth shaped and will continue to be so. We are very proud to have so many active volunteers and young people who are learning skills for life.

Remember, youth shaped scouting is embedded within our day to day scouting and YouShape month was to celebrate this, so continue your fantastic work using the resources here.

Thank you!

Jordan Shuck, District Youth Commissioner

Ben Hughes and Tayler Kippax, Deputy District Youth Commissioners
